About the School:  Catalina Foothills School District

About the job:  Teach 9 grade students Mandarin Chinese in Tucson, Arizona; responsible for the full curriculum to facilitate students learning of language development speaking, listening, reading and writing and cultural competence; implement Confucius Classroom Management; successfully prepare students for SAT and AP Chinese examinations; utilize technology tools and applications for instructional purposes and communication and collaboration tools to promote cross cultural communication and collaboration; develop thematic-based units and common assessments for years 1-4 of the Mandarin Chinese curriculum using a district standard; negotiate with appropriate Chinese government officials to develop, implement and continue the summer camps and learning experience for youth and adults in the school district, and lead Summer study abroad program groups to China.

Qualifications:  1) Certificate for Teaching by the Arizona Department of Education; 2.  Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature or its foreign equivalent; and 3) at least three years of Chinese teaching experience in an American school; 4) must be fluent in Chinese.  Authorization to work in USA needed if hired.

Salary:  8 hrs per day on every school day; 8 - 4; $40,060 or more/year depending on experience and degree.
